So, read what Tom, our CEO has to say about the Goodvalley way, as well as two of our other colleagues, Luba and Piotr. Each of them has their own story to tell about their role at Goodvalley and its impact on the company every day.

Meet our Founder - Tom

Goodvalley’s dream is actually an ideological concept about producing food for the world’s growing population in the most logical locations and with the least negative impact on the environment. Our unique approach came about as a result of my own experience as a Danish farmer.

Today, consumer demand for meat has never been higher. Consumers are also more conscious about what they eat and how that food is produced. That led me to think there must be a better way to farm and feed the population more sustainably, keep our animals healthier and minimise our impact on the environment. That’s how the Goodvalley concept was born.

We’ve learned much in a short time and have worked hard to ensure success. Accolades like our CO2 neutrality certificate from German TüV institute in 2014 are a testament to that commitment. We have a fleet of high-tech market solutions and machinery but, at the end of the day, it’s our dedicated people that create results. Goodvalley has shown sustainable farming is both possible and beneficial to employees, animals, local communities and the environment, which is why we hope to bring the concept to other regions of the world.

Meet our Company Development and Communication Manager - Luba

I started work at Goodvalley in 2007 as a translator in Ukraine. It was my first job out of university. Later on, I became assistant to the director and then Administrative Manager. Today, I’m Company Development and Communication Manager. Over the years, I’ve watched the company expand and grow, but it’s always remained true to its commitment to sustainable practices and business transparency. This is something I respect enormously.

As Company Development and Communication Manager, my job is very varied. In a nutshell, it’s about promoting our values – to always try to better ourselves, and be transparent, open and honest in everything we do. In doing so, we increase our awareness among local authorities and communities, attract positive feedback and, hopefully, invitations for cooperation.

At Goodvalley, CSR is definitely not a buzzword, it’s inextricably tied to the core of our business. By expanding our approach to farming, we also increase the care of the environment we depend on, create local jobs across the region and implement initiatives to develop our communities. I look forward to continuing this work as I believe the work we do at Goodvalley makes a huge difference to a lot of people.

Meet the manager of our Koczała biogas plant - Piotr

My adventure at Goodvalley began in 2006, when I started as an operator at the biogas plant located in Pawłówko in Poland. At the time, it was the first and only biogas plant in the country. I was attracted to Goodvalley because of its focus on sustainability – something I share – and something that motivates me every day. Producing our own biogas is a great way to make the most of the resources we have and take care of our environment at the same time.

As with any new venture, there was a steep learning curve for both me and the company. Without that experience, we would not be where we are today. The vision to be completely energy self-sufficient comes closer to reality every day and the milestones we’ve reached with regard to production efficiency and the environment are remarkable.

Today I’m manager of the Koczała plant and every day is varied and challenging. I regularly attend training and courses to learn about new technology and keep updated which I find invaluable. I’ve also had the opportunity to share my biogas knowledge with other staff colleagues when we open new biogas plants in the group to ensure we all operate the same way and achieve the high standards expected.
